VDA ISA Audit Readiness
Auditors use the VDA ISA Audit Readiness as a structured set of questions and checks to confirm how a company protects information. They look at areas such as access control, data handling, physical security, and risk management. The goal is not just to have documents, but to show that people understand security controls, use them, and maintain them every day.
When you are audit-ready, your organisation has already reviewed these requirements. You know where you meet them and where you need improvements before the formal audit.
The Role of Assessment Levels (AL)
TISAX assigns an Assessment Level (AL) to decide how detailed the audit needs to be. The level depends on how sensitive your organisation’s information is.
AL1 – Self‑Assessment Only
A company completes the VDA ISA Audit Readiness questions for its own understanding. Auditors do not review AL1 in detail. TISAX does not use AL1 results, but they help an organisation know where it stands before moving forward.
AL2 – Remote Assessment
Choose AL2 when information has high protection needs. An auditor reviews your self-assessment, checks supporting evidence, and holds interviews—normally online. The auditor checks that what you have written makes sense and matches the evidence. Many automotive suppliers use this level.
AL3 – On‑Site Assessment
Select AL3 when information needs the highest protection, such as highly confidential data or prototypes. The auditor reviews documents in depth, visits your site, and speaks directly with staff. This is the most thorough level of assessment.
If you pass a higher level, you automatically meet the requirements for lower levels.
How We Support Audit Readiness
We help organisations understand the VDA ISA requirements and the assessment level they need. We review existing controls, identify gaps, and organise evidence so it clearly aligns with what auditors expect to see.
If you prepare properly, your organisation reduces disruption during the audit, avoids last-minute issues, and moves through the TISAX process with confidence. This approach makes it easier to meet customer expectations and operate smoothly within global automotive supply chains.
